"7542", 1995 Sheng Puerh Menghai Tea Factory
The "7542" Sheng Puerh produced by Menghai Tea Factory is one of the most famous Sheng Puerh in existence. "7542" is used as a yardstick by which to compare other Sheng Puerh. Our "7542" has been dry stored to perfection in Taiwan.
Arguably, the most important aspect of old Sheng Puerh is the Cha Qi (Tea Qi). This tea is incredibly relaxing. I have served this to people who claim they cannot drink caffeine due to a sensitivity...they tell me later they slept like a baby. This tea is incredible medicine. One can feel the Cha Qi in their heart, arms, hands, and even legs and feet. The camphor taste and chen xiang (aloeswood) smell are prominent aspects of this tea. Also, the tea body is very smooth; only slight astringency remains from its youthful days. The color of the tea is a beautiful dark red.
Our 7542 has been vetted by Tea Master Vesper Chan, the man behind popularizing "Ba Ba Qing", the 1988 "7542". The 1988 "7542" has auctioned for $15k-$20k per cake and the 1995 is only 7 years behind it. This is a cheaper way to own a piece of tea history and the tea material and storage is equal to the famous "Ba Ba Qing" from 1988.
Authenticity is an important factor to consider when buying expensive tea. You can find many "7542" cakes for cheaper, however, how do we know they are real? Is it first flush "7542" or inferior material? Remember: Vesper Chan sent back the second round of cakes he received as they were much worse than the original cakes he received; those are on the market somewhere! Even if it is real, how was it stored? We have witnessed many good teas ruined by improper storage. It is worth it to pay more for a tea you know is authentic. If you are trying to determine the authenticity of another "7542", get a sample of this tea to compare before buying.
