"7542", 1995 Sheng Puerh Menghai Tea Factory

The "7542" Sheng Puerh recipe produced by Menghai Tea Factory is one of the most famous Sheng Puerh recipes in existence. 1975 was the first year of production, 4 is the leaf grade (on a scale from 1-10), and 2 is the factory number, indicating Menghai Tea Factory. "7542" is one yardstick often used to compare other Sheng Puerh. Our "7542" has been dry stored to perfection in Taiwan for the majority of its life.

This tea is incredibly relaxing. I have served this to people who claim they cannot drink caffeine due to a sensitivity...they tell me later they slept like a baby. This tea is incredible medicine. One can feel the Cha Qi in their heart, arms, hands, and even legs and feet; the Qi is very smooth and comfortable. The camphor taste and chen xiang (aloeswood) smell are prominent aspects of this tea. The tea body is very smooth; only slight astringency remains from its youthful days. The color of the tea is a beautiful dark red.

The older versions of this cake often auction for $10,000+. This 1995 "7542" is still relatively affordable and a great collector's tea.
