Year of the Rooster, Shou Puerh 2017
The original Sheng Puerh leaf quality is very high despite being quite young. 60% is from Fall of 2016; 40% is from Spring of 2017. Using this amount of Fall material allowed us to use Old Tree leaf material while keeping the cost affordable. The leaves come from ~200 year old trees in Mengku, Lincang. The fermentation process was done perfectly, and even 6 months after this tea was pressed into a cake it was very drinkable with minimal off-taste. The tea already has an amazingly sweet, earthy flavor. We have found this tea to be pleasantly moving, warming up the stomach and limbs quickly. Like our other tea, it is quite relaxing and comfortable to drink.
I have met many customers who said they do not like Shou (Ripe) Puerh. Well, this is usually because most Shou Puerh is made with very poor quality material, and often the fermentation process was done improperly. These teas are not good to drink, and I don't blame people for avoiding them. I show them this tea and they are so surprised! This is a tea worth collecting, it is so difficult to find a Shou Puerh of this quality.
