Li Shan Wulong, Competition Grade, Spring 2018
Taiwanese High Mountain Wulong at its finest, this tea is sourced directly from a farm on Li Shan (Pear Mountain). Grown at approximately 2,100 meters, this tea is a real gem. This tea has a very low level of oxidation; the leaves look very fresh, green, and vibrant. The body and flavor are rich, creamy, and delicious. The smell of this Li Shan is like honey. When brewed properly there is no bitterness or astringency.
In 2018, our Li Shan was given the "Samsung" award at the He Ping District Farmer's Tea Certification System. After placing in their competition, it took the Taiwanese government approximately 3 months to test, package, and send the tea back to us! Each package is 300 grams, is sealed and given a QR code so customers can verify its authenticity. There is only 25 Taiwanese kilos available, 5 of which we secured this spring. The Taiwanese government is very strict, and they test the tea to make sure it is unadulterated with other tea or any chemicals.
The 2018 tea is from the same farm as 2017; however this certification may help our customers understand that we only sell truly clean, top quality tea. The competition grading is a reflection of our high standards. If you scan the QR code you can see the other teas that placed higher in the competition. The absolute winner will sell for approximately $30,000 for 1 kilogram! For those seriously interested we can acquire these teas that are virtually unknown in the United States. For now, we have secured tea at an affordable price range that is clean, delicious, and has the great lively energy known to TaiwaneseHigh Mountain Wu Long. Enjoy!
