Mengku Big Tree Sheng Puerh, Mao Cha
Excellent tea for the price; this is the same tea as the Mini-Mooncake Mao Cha that we pressed for the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2018.
Compared to our more expensive Shengs, this tea has more astringency and bitterness, especially when oversteeped. Still, when steeped properly, the tea is very sweet and fruity. The Qi is relatively high compared to the Sheng made from older trees, so we generally drink it earlier in the day.
After 1 year of aging this tea has smoothed out, and it is a great daily drinker for those who save old tree teas for special occasions.
